full moon
inexpressible awe
Early this morning I went outside to see the full moon. Its beauty overwhelmed me.
It is amazing to think of that large ball circling around our even larger ball which is circling around a giant ball of fire that is 93 million miles away. There are those gifted in science and astronomy who can explain how this all works. But there is no scientific or rational explanation of the awe that rises inside of us when we see that magnificent splendor in the sky.
There are no words other than:
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of HIs hands. Day after day they pour forth speech, night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the end of the world. (Psalm 19:1-4)
I’m Listening

What a beautiful reminder that awe itself is a form of worship. You name something Scripture affirms again and again: creation does not merely inform us, it awakens us. Science can trace the mechanics of the moon’s orbit, but it cannot explain why the human heart rises in reverence when we look up. That response is older than language and deeper than logic.
Psalm 19 captures this perfectly: creation speaks without words, yet its message is unmistakable. It bypasses debate and goes straight to the soul. In moments like this, we are reminded that God reveals Himself not only through Scripture, but through splendor; through light, rhythm, vastness, and quiet beauty.
Thank you for bearing witness to that early-morning holiness. In a world rushing past wonder, your reflection gently calls us back to stillness, humility, and praise.
Blessings,
Ze Selassie
